Let's Talk Values Strategic values-based communication workshop

Appealing to people’s Fear, Greed or Ego cannot motivate lasting behavioral change. Yet, much of today's sustainability communication is characterized by such an approach.

• How can we best engage with others about social and environmental issues?
• What are cultural values, why are they important and how are they shaped?
• Why aren’t people more vocal about global poverty or climate change?

The workshop provides a hands-on approach to exploring the importance of the values that underpin concern about many social and environmental issues. Together we will examine how the use of values can motivate broad, long-term public engagement with problems such as climate change, global poverty, inequality and more.

While the workshop will touch upon some of the common negative communication tactics, more importantly, it will highlight opportunities for essential new collaborations and ways in which people can become involved in this rapidly growing discussion.
